Belief System – Death (Physical)

There will be a day when we will be done with our path and our physical body will come to and end.  We don’t know when or how, but because we have experienced a NDE (Near Death Experience) we do know what the other side is like.  We know that our soul will go to the other side and we wish to have our physical body cremated, unless we die in a fire, then it will automatically be cremated.  We also will make sure that our thoughts and last thought will be of God and a peaceful passing.  We have had some close calls throughout our life and each time something always saved us at the last minute.

We believe that it was the work of an earth angel a few times.  When we were 10 years old and stuck in quicksand with a friend, a man came out of nowhere to pull us out.  We were in a place that was desolate and even my friend said he did not see the guy, but all of a sudden, this man pulled us out at the last minute.  We barely had time to thank him and he said he had to go and left.

Then there was the time we were riding in my friends 1964 Corvette and I was sitting in the middle and one friend was driving and one friend was in the passenger seat.  Yes, a Corvette is only a two seat car, but since we were in our late teens and invincible, the middle arm rest seemed fine as a seat.  So we were going down I-94 East Bound at around 120 MPH in the left lane passing a bunch of semi-trucks when one of the trucks ahead decided to pull out into the left lane where we were.  The driver could only do one thing to avoid a collision and that was to turn left and go into the middle grassy separation.  We were throwing grass all over and slowly slowing down when we all saw one of those Police “Turn around” roads coming up soon.  Lucky the “road” had dirt on both sides almost like a ramp.  When we hit it we immediately launched to the right and landed in the left had lane of I-94 like nothing happened.  We got off at the next exit and pulled in to the first parking lot and came to a stop.  On the passenger side there is a horizontal bar over the glove box called a “suicide bar” and we had to pry the hands of the passenger off the bar.  Nobody wet their pants but it made a great story to tell our friends.

There was one time when we had just soloed when I was taking flying lessons and my instructor had me doing touch and goes for practice.  A touch and go is a landing and then without stopping, giving the plane full throttle and taking off again.  It happened to be at Gary Airport and on a right turn out it took me over Lake Michigan for my downwind that day.  Then the tower called me and had me execute a 360 degree turn because another airplane was coming into my air space without permission.  At the time we were about 2,000 feet over the lake and the request shook me up, but we started the 360 to the left and found we were having trouble maintaining my elevation.  We were going down so we gave the plane more gas, but it didn’t help.  We admit we started to panic when we were at about 1,000 feet above the water when all of a sudden we felt at peace, calm, and our mind cleared.  We immediately saw that we had left our flaps down and we knew that we needed to put them up, but we had to do it slowly to prevent a stall.  When we stated bringing the flaps up we started gaining altitude so we cut down on our speed and got the plane under control.  We turned on “base” and then “final” and landed.  I was shaking and got to the terminal as fast as possible.  Just as we stopped our instructor ran up and asked if we were ok?  He heard the tower ask us to do the 360 and knew that we had not covered this yet in out lessons so he ran out to the tower to view or progress.  He said that when he saw us go lower than the building between the tower and the lake we were having an issue and tried to call us on the radio but got static.  The he saw us rise and knew were ok.  I told him it scared the crap out of me and it cured me from keeping my flaps down to long on a touch and go.  We both laughed and we drank about four Pepsi’s down in five minutes.  To this day we love to fly.

We used to fly commercial often and have been on many “Emergency” Landings, but we always had confidence that the pilots we well trained and we knew they were well trained.  Usually the person sitting next to us got very nervous, but we would always assure them we were in good hands.  This always seemed to calm them down.  Every once is awhile before take off the person sitting next to us would ask us to hold there hand because this was the first time they where flying and they were afraid.  We always said yes, of course.  They were mostly ladies because the guys we noticed were chugging down beer during preflight.

Of course there are times we all come close to death but we don’t know it.   So we go on with our great lives and know that God is always watching out for us.  We look at death as the completion of our path in this life and we know that we can take what we learned with us to the next life (See post on reincarnation – May 20).  Recently we were shook up by the suicide of Anthony Bourdain, someone we followed for many years.  In our teaching we have learned that a person who commits suicide will experience the same exact situation as when they passed. Suicide is an issue in the US and there are many organizations that have suicide help lines.  The national Suicide Help line available 24/7 is 1-800-273-8255.  Please call, you are NOT alone and we care about you.

We have nothing else to report at this time and we thank all of the folks following our posts.  We hope to make a better life for all and we certainly willing to share with everyone.  Just know that you are not alone and that we all care for you always and in all ways.

Namaste

Following Your Dream and more

We are dedicating this post to Vanessa, the Uber driver that brought us home yesterday and something we discussed inspired this post.  If you know a Vanessa from the West Bay that drives for Uber, call her to and tell her to come and read this post.  Also thank her for the inspiration.

Because I believe that everyone is living their dream I often ask so we asked Vanessa because she was saying how much she liked driving for Uber.  When we drove for Uber we loved it also because of the flexible hours giving us the freedom to work when we wanted to.  When we asked Vanessa she said “I am actually an accountant but I did not like the confines of working in an office.  I want to travel the world and experience new things.”  Then she said “I guess I should get a normal job”.  This was probably coming from someone in her life that is telling her what they want her to do.  These are the people who live life projecting their opinions toward you.  Many think they are helping you, but what they are really doing is pushing the opinion of their own needs onto you. So her dream is to travel the world and we said “Go for it!”  Find someplace that promotes employees traveling of create your own business where you would be, for example, a traveling accountant. Of coursed we get a hesitation, which is usually the reaction because we have created a new idea for them to pursue.  When we exited the car we said “For you Vanessa we will ask the Universe to help you find a way you can pursue your dream.”  This adds energy to the new idea and our energy along with hers is starting the process.  This is why we meditate.  Meditation clears our mind so that when we send a request out to the Universe we are clear and when the answer comes we see it. Or if we send a request out on behalf of someone else it gets attention.  It’s like praying, which is actually meditation when you’re focused.  We believe that if she is ready the request will come her way, and even if she is not ready, it will be fulfilled when she is ready.

So what’s our experience is following dreams?  We have followed our dreams from the day we were born.  We have lived a blessed life and we thank the Universe everyday.  In the area of the country where we grew up the steel mills employed most people.  All my friends went to the mills to work and the money was good.  But my Dad said to me that in twenty years this area will be all hi tech so pursue the computer stuff you like so much and we did.  My Dad being an Aquarius always seem to know what the future held and 20 years later that area is now high tech.  We worked 50 years as a software developer and loved every moment.  There were times we loved it so mush that we probably would have worked for free, but did not mention that to the client.  We also traveled to hundreds of cities in the U.S. throughout our career meeting and met awesome people everywhere, not only at the client, but other travelers. We get happy just thinking about some of our adventures like helping a older lady get home to Travers City and her family. The flight from San Jose, CA to Detroit and then on to Traverse City, but when we landed at Detroit the airport was closed because of thunderstorms.  She was supposed to be escorted by airline employees but we saw her wandering around with no one in sight so we went over and took her to the airline desk.  The lady behind the desk asked me to please take charge because her escorts were not available.  I said “Of course” and the airline booked us in to a local Marriot and set us up for the first flight out the next morning.  We had a car take us to the hotel where I told the desk what the circumstances were so that calls to the older ladies room would transfer to me.  I call the family in Traverse City and informed they what was going on.  The next day we had a free breakfast and a car took up to the airport where we caught the next flight out.  Upon arrival we “delivered” her to the family who was full of thanks and I went on my way.  About a month later I received a letter from Northwest Airlines say that the family thought I was an airline employee and they were impressed that we took it upon ourselves to take care of their mom.  (She looked exactly like our grandma so we could not resist).  The airline gave the family a full refund and they gave me a ticket to fly round trip anywhere in the world they serviced.  Stuff like this happened often and every time we boarded an airplane if the seat next to us was vacant, we thought “This seat is reserved for someone special”.

As a footnote when we refer to the “Universe” we believe that everything that is and ever was is connected. So you might say God because it’s what you believe in and we honor all.  The point is we are all here to help each other get though this life and all the other lives.  (Smile)  Yes, we believe in reincarnation. J

So far we have lived and loved every moment and even after we retired and now we are continue meeting amazing people in a place where we love and thrive.  If we can help someone get to live their dream then we get brownie points with the Universe. J (Karma)

We are closing on a happy note with a post we saw on our “Alaboutnothing” Facebook page.  (We have a Facebook and Twitter account)

Grandma said to grand-daughter, “Do you know what day is coming up?”

Grand-daughters response, “Yes, it’s Presidents Day.”

Grandma thinking she has a smart grand-daughter followed with, “Do you know what it means?”

Grand-daughter, “The President comes out of the White House and if he sees his shadow, we have another year of bull-shit!” (We almost feel off chair laughing)

We have nothing else to report at this time.  Thank you all for taking the time to stop by by and God Bless all.

Meditation Notes – Misc Mindfulness

Mindfulness Mediation can be broken down to two different styles that we know of.  There are probably a zillion more, but we are only going with two.

The first would be the Medical/Business, which is using the Meditation to control pain (Medical) and in business to relieve stress or clear you mind.  We have to admit using Mindfulness Meditation to control pain, once mastered, would be awesome.  We have read some articles where cancer patients have learned to control the intense pain with mediation (Scale of 1-10  20).  In business, from what we understand, Google employees have a Meditation Guru and they use the meditation to relieve stress and anxiety by breathing out the tenseness and relaxing.  This is good for the employee and boosts creativity in the work place.

The second is what we learned at The Insight Meditation Center in Redwood City, CA which is a Buddhist version for the mind, body, and spirit.  We also use this style when using Reiki Energy for healing.  Here when you are meditating and a thought comes into your mind and refuses to go away, you go deeper and determine what is causing the thought, then either work on the issue immediately or consider working on it at a later date.  An example would be you initially felt anger and when you went deep you found it came from a bullying incident when you were a child or from an event in the past.  This form of meditation is used to help yourself to clear out the crap you have collected throughout your life.  In Reiki cold energy is various part of the body is caused from specific emotions or past experiences.

So past experiences is what we are using Meditation to get rid of.  Think about it.  A a memory is an illusion.  So if you are getting angry from someone slapping you when you where a child, then you are living in an illusion. There is nothing you can do to stop the slap all these years later and the pain of the slap goes on because you are keeping it alive by thinking about it and reacting to it.  Just like when we quit smoking, when an urge from the past surfaced and we normally would go have a smoke, instead we recognized the urge, we talked to the urge by saying “You can hang around, but we choose not to smoke and will continue on by meditation.” The next time the urge came along we did not get an inkling to go have a smoke, we just noticed the urge and continued on.

So we are using meditation to move to “Live in the moment” because the past and the future are illusions and our only reality is in the now.  If you apply this to other people you will find that judgments go away. If you are judging someone based on a past experience then you are judging them on an illusion. Everything is in a state of change, in every moment, always, and in all ways so nothing is as it was.  People talk about peace of mind, or bliss, this is the way to get there.  It’s not easy, but the when you get there you will be grateful and thanks everyone you met along the way for helping you.

So here is this weeks meditation CONNECT TO THE SOURCE

We have nothing to add at this time except to thank all of you for stopping by and we send you many blessings.  Namaste
