Meditation Updates and Meditation for “Newbies”

If you are new to our posting then let us give you a quick overview of the type of meditation we have taught on our site.  If you are not new, you might want to sip down or stay here an review.  Get into a comfortable position, we usually sit in a chair with both feet on the floor, but if you feel comfortable standing on your head, then go for it. We basically teach the mindfulness style of meditation.  Mindfulness meditation is used all over the world and is taught by some medical facilities to control pain in patients.  Ours is the same except for when you start a meditation and thoughts come into your mind and seem to not want to go away like the other fleeting thoughts, we believe that you need to follow the though back to where it came from and deal with the issue that caused the thought.  We learned this style at “The Insight Meditation Center” in Redwood City and we call it “Buddhist Mindfulness Meditation”.  Most thoughts just come and go in a few seconds, but the ones that remain we look at as “they are calling for a solution and will remain or return as many times as needed until it’s cause gets solved”.   Because you’re just getting started, go ahead and skip these at first, besides they will come back later.

Let’s do a mindfulness meditation and the whole point is to focus on your breath. Take three long and deep breaths focusing on relaxing your muscles all over your body on each breath.  Now focus on your breath incoming and out going through your nose.  If you’re more comfortable breathing through your mouth, then do so. Do whatever makes you feel the best, we have no rules.  Visualize the out-going breath to be negative energy leaving your relaxing body and the incoming breath to be Love energy filling the gap where the negative energy just left.  Focus on the breath in and out.  If a thought comes along know that it will be leaving in a few seconds so go back and focus on the breath.  If it’s a thought that wants to stay then think like you are talking to the thought “I see you and I will bet back to you later” and go back to the breath.  Mindfulness Meditation is all about the breath and focus.  When you are new and starting choose to do about five minutes unless you feel you can do more.  There is no hurry, we just would like you to be focused and later this will help in doing visualizations.  If you choose to start with visualizations also then visualize the out-going breath as stress leaving your body or whatever you wish.  The more you practice the longer the meditation will be and when you get to 20 minutes you are good to move on and maybe bring in some video assistance.  YouTube has some awesome meditation videos for healing and helping you get rid of toxins, stress, rejuvenate cells, get positive energy, etc.  We have friends using those videos to help them sleep better and what’s great is, while they are sleeping they are getting rid of negative energy or healing their body.  Also these video’s use various frequencies of sound to zero in on what you wish to clear out of your body.  Because we are a Reiki Healer Level II we use these video’s to balance or heal our chakras.  If you wish to use a video right off, and then go for it, just remember “always go back to the breath”.

If you have any questions or need specific help don’t hesitate to email us at “alaboutnothing @gmail.com”.  Add “Meditation” to the “RE:”.  We have created some custom meditations for when you get to a point of “going deep into your soul”.  When we first started getting rid of the “surface” or “shallow” stuff was easy, but when that was gone it was time to go deeper.  In fact the following update has to do with that subject.  By the way, since we believe that everything that happens id for a reason when we get a new video we have a list of people we send these video’s to via “messaging” if you choose to join the list please email “RE: Video list”.

Meditation Update:

As most of you know we are constantly moving forward in our quest to keep a clear mind and about three months ago we started a process of going back through out life and forgiving those who did us “wrong” and asking for forgiveness from those who we did “wrong”.  Because we believe the past is an illusion this process permanently clears the past and frees up our minds.  At first it was easy because the obvious are the people or animals, yes animals like pets, which are fresh in our minds.  So the first few weeks, yes weeks, was fairly easy and the way we did it was when we were deep in a meditation we visualized talking to the person or animal and asking for forgiveness or forgiving them.  These days we always start our meditations by getting a flow of healing energy going from the God energy through our bodies and into Mother Earth and this energy flow constantly through out the day without us having to focus on it again.  We can visualize on other things once it gets flowing.  So after a few weeks of forgiving / forgiveness we went deeper because the surface was fairly clean and started digging for those who we may have just brushed off as something that happened.  Like, yelling at that customer service lady, or waitress or cursing out that cop who gave us a ticket, or that dog that bit us, or yelling at our girlfriend or wife, or yelling at kids throwing snowballs at our car, or screaming at God for doing us wrong, or simply blaming others for something we did.  Yes folks, we need to get this deep and the cool thing is once you get most of the “stuff” out and gone, you won’t need to meditate because incidents will pop into your mind during the day when you are doing other things.  So you just think “aha, I remember that and you are forgiven or please forgive me” and you’re done.  We have started a few friends on this process and we call it “Goddess in training” class.  We make a point of talking with these folks on a weekly basis and discussing some of the tough stuff, but also celebrating their success.  They have now given us a nickname “My Buddha” and we say to them “That is why my belly looks like Buddha, because of that name.” J  Now we said we started three months ago and every once in awhile an events pops into our mind even now.  We do fell lighter and our meditations are awesome and this brings us to another update.

Because we are so clear and in the moment we have noticed that our dreams are now meditations and we have woken up several times knee deep in a full blown meditation most working with God energy and spreading it throughout the world.  When we wake up we go with whatever the meditation is and enjoy every moment.  It’s hard to describe the joy in waking up to being in a deep meditation, but it sure starts the day off with a “bang” and a smile.  What we started doing was choosing to control our dreams prior to going to sleep and this seems to have resulted in the meditations.  We make this choice an “intention” so once we send it out we forget about it knowing that The Universe will make it happen when we are ready. Go ahead and choose to do it, send the intention out and know it will happen when you’re ready.  Get that beautiful mind clear and be amazed.

We have nothing else to report except to say to all of you thank you for stopping by during your busy schedule and reading our posts.  Many blessings!

Opera Browser Review and other AAN stuff

My long vacation is over an it’s time to report on what we have been doing and the many interesting places we have been both on-line and off. I have been screwing around with Firefox and Chrome both of which pissed me off so we read about Opera and so far we find it to be perfect for our needs.  We are on it now and so far so good.

We have been living on Twitter for several months supporting the anti-Trump folks and pushing for the #calext (California becoming its own country) proposition. We like #calexit because the point is we don’t want some moron like Trump determining our present and future.  We also have been organizing the Reiki folks world wide to send healing energy to the victims of the recent hurricanes and earthquakes. I once lived in Florida and would not go back, but the folks there have taken a beating and we care.

Recently we discovered that several dating sites contain hundreds of scammers of various types and we have names and will be doing some blogs on what we experienced and solutions. Right now if you are on a dating site and the person you are talking to lives in Ghana and they are asking you for money to get a new cell phone or some other expense then they are probably a scammer. Google “Ghana scammers” and look on YouTube you might just see something disturbing.

We are happy to say that we are still smoke free and have helped other to become the same way. Motto “Smoke cigarettes is like holding a gun to your head and pulling the trigger on a gun that shots a slow moving bullet.” You will suffer and your family will suffer right along with you.

We still watch So You Think You Can Dance, Deadliest Catch (Less), Americas Got Talent (Addicted to Heidi), Pawn Stars, every Golden State Warriors game (Eat your heart out Chicago), every Raiders game, some 49’s games (they need to win us back), The Voice (Less), X Factor, just to list a few.

We are also going to be reporting on some medical experiences that we have currently (Noting major) and have researched. We consider ourselves blessed that we did not have any issues other than shortness of breath after we quit smoking but what we found was he inherited one called Orthostatic hypotentension which has no cure but can e managed, and another called Polymyalgia Rhueumatica (PMR) and 20% of PMR patients have Temporal Arteritis and we are in the 20%.  Then for our followers who have met us here is a little tidbit that will probably make you smile. Between quitting smoking and the medications we have gained some weight after 65+ years at no higher than 150 we now weigh in at 190. At least we have leveled off here. (Hope you did not injure yourself when you fell off your chair Aaron). We must add that Stanford Hospital and The Stanford Medical Group have been beyond outstanding is every phase from the supporting staff to the amazingly talented doctors.

Of course there is more, but we have a craving for Cheeto’s and need to go find some.

We have nothing else to report except to say to everyone we hope you and your families are all well and we send you many blessings. We hold ourselves grateful having met so many great folks and knowing some very special people.

American Idol and The Voice 2016

AI 2011 logoThis is the last year for American Idol and since we have been watching since day 1, it will be like losing a friend.  I am guessing it’s due to falling ratings, but we are just guessing.  The sad part is that American Idol was the 1st to start the reality talent show format and when they leave there won’t be another show to replace their format.  The loss of a format for new talent like American Idol uses is not duplicated on any other show that we can think of.  The Voice pre-picks, America’s Got Talent is not a format for singers, and the X Factor currently is only in England.  Maybe Fox will come up with some kind of replacement for pure singing contestants similar to American Idol.  One thing for sure is that up until this season the viewing audience never know who stayed and who went home before the telecast was completed, but this year there have been several “leaks” about results already.  Guess some of the soon to be unemployed employees don’t give a hoot.

voiceThe Voice 2016 started this past Monday with the “Blind Auditions” and once again it is looking like an awesome season.  We say this every year, but it’s true every time.  With Adam, Pharrell, Blake, and Christina as the judges it for sure will be entertaining watching the judge banter.  Tuesday was the 2nd “Blind Audition” and so far we have picked three of four possible winners. Have you picked anyone?  We wonder if the N. Michigan “car-poolies” will be following The Voice this season.  (We won’t know because our source evaporated).  (We think yes).

We have nothing else to report except that even though we never get involved with political news, we can’t resist whats going on this year in the U.S.A.  After all we guess these guys and gals running for the presidency  also are chasing a dream.  (We are not sure what the dream is but maybe we will know by next November).

The Voice 2015 Fall Season — The Knockout’s

voiceNow we know why they call these shows the “The Knockouts”, it’s because as a avid viewer we are just plain knocked out by the concert level vocals by the contestants over the past two nights.  WOW!  We are sure glad we are not judges.

By the way did you see Blake, Adam, Gwen, and Pharrell on the Jimmy Fallon Tonight Show Tuesday night?  If you missed it we are sure you can catch it on YouTube, it was a roar watching Blake sing Y.M.C.A.

This season has certainly not disappointed us, in fact we think it’s way better than any other season, but then again, we say that every season 🙂

We are wondering if the car pool crowd is still watching? Have not heard anything, but they are a fairly quite bunch anyway 🙂

We have also been watching the X Factor – England, but it’s on such an odd schedule, we have missed many episodes.  Sunday and Monday shows and without a doubt Monday is The Voice night and there is no way we are watching the X Factor other than recording it on the DVR.  Then we play catch up because we have recordings from the weekend, and of course Tuesday is out because The Voice is on that night also.  Oh well, the X factor does not get very interesting until the “Live Shows”.

We have nothing else to report except to wonder how many folks have quit smoking recently.  If you used our advise from a few weeks ago have you noticed that it feels like a load has been removed now that you don’t have to worry if you have enough cigarettes? No more searching the entire house, rifling through all your old coats sweaters, drawers, and dress suits looking for a smoke.  No more needing to run to the 7-11 in the middle of the night to get a pack of smokes because your search came up empty.  No more planning an evening out based on if the restaurant has a smoking area and no more yellow junk on the paper towel when you clean your car windows.

The Voice – 2015 Fall Season – Battle Rounds 1 & 2

VioceWOW !  WOW ! Folks !  The first two nights of “battle rounds” have been GREAT !  YIKES !  The talent this year is beyond outstanding !  Have you seen your favorite yet ? Once again a concert every night!

The rumor mill was implying that Blake and Gwen were having a romance, but when Blake was asked he said they were just friends.

Onward and upward,  so lets enjoy this season and all the great talent, including Team Gwen, Team Blake, Team Adam, and Team Pharrell.  Next week the battles will continue and we have a list of singers we want to see.

The mentor / judge competition of words is really entertaining and the “steals” have begun. Making a choice by the team leader looks to be a really tough job.  We would just flip a coin.

We have never mentioned this before, but we think Carson Daly is one of the all time best hosts of any reality show.  It is really cool when he cheers with the families of each contestant when they were performing.

We have nothing to add right now except we strongly suggest that you take a few minutes and watch this video >>>>CLICK HERE<<<

The Voice 2015 Fall Season — Let the Battles Begin!

VioceFinally our favorite format of The Voice – The BATTLE Rounds.  The blind auditions we great, but our favorite part of The Voice is the battle rounds.  This is what sets The Voice apart from other vocal reality shows and with the great talent this year is going to be way over the top.  The judge / mentor steals are also going to be interesting.

We have nothing else to report except to say to you all out there in cyberland, see you tomorrow night for the start of the battles.  Thank you for not smoking while visiting and if you were smoking, why don’t you think about quitting? (Scroll down to the Quite Smoking the Easy Way Post a few days ago)

The Voice 2015 Fall Season

voiceHere we go again and just when you think The Voice can not get any better, it does !!  The 1st week of “blind auditions” proved to this reporter that this will be the best season ever of The Voice.  (We say this at the beginning of every season.) The judges are a perfect group topped off with Gwen returning and with the addition of Pharrell back season.  They seem to be having fun and some of the banter is really funny.  Hard to believe that Adam is having a tough time forming a team and has started slowly, but Pharrell and Gwen are really pushing to get contestants, along with Blake and of course Adam.  Talent wise, WOW, this season has started with the “Concert every night” theme and we are enjoying every minute of it. Tough to pick a favorite this season, but we are still looking for the “wow” ones.

We have nothing to report except that we were converted back to following So You Think You Can Dance this past season and we enjoyed it immensely.

The Voice 2014 Season 7 – Battle Round Complete

VioceWhew!  The “Battle Rounds” are done.  We are exhausted especially from last night where we were on the remote constantly at the beginning of the show because the Giants were playing in the World Series and even thought they were ahead by 7 runs when The Voice started, he had to watch our “beloved” Giants play to the end of the game.

Okay so now that the “Battle Rounds” are over and our favorites made it through to the “Knock Out” Rounds starting next week, we need the time to update our notes and buy more munchies for next week.  The rest of this week we will be glued to the TV watching the World Series.

Hope all of you favorites made it through or were stolen and got to stay.  Have not heard from the Brandon Gang so we don’t know whats up with them.

Being a judge / mentor on the Voice must be tense.  They had some really tough decisions on the battles and basically it was a flip of the coin making the decision who won of not.

He have nothing to report right now except:

giants

The Voice Season 7 – The Battle Rounds next week

VioceWe learned a valuable lesson yesterday and that is to not post about an event ahead of time unless we absolutely know it is going to take place.  We posted that the Battle Rounds on The Voice were starting yesterday when in fact they are starting next week.  Last night were highlights of the “Blind Auditions” and some tid-bits of the judges interactions.  Since we saw all the Blind Audits it was kind of boring, but we managed to get through it.  We should have known better because basically all the vocal reality shows do the same thing and AGT takes reruns to a new level.

So now we can load up on munchies to prepare for the Battle Rounds and get our list ready for listing our favorites and get some new viewer questions ready.  In case you did not see the answer to “A cowboy rides in to town on Friday…etc”.  The answer is the cowboys horse is named Friday.  (we had to google the answer).

We have nothing to include except to ask if any of you out there in cyberland happen to see 60 minutes last Sunday?  Because we know nothing we were appalled by the segment on the cost of cancer medicines.  More to come on this subject as soon a we do some research and we NEVER do research, so that is how important we think this is.

The Voice Season 7 – The Battle Rounds Preview

VioceOkay folks the “Blind Auditions” are over with and now we let the “Battle Rounds” begin …next week.  Dang, we have to wait until next week and tonight is just a review of the blind auditions.  Oh well, it will give us a chance to stock up on munchies and make our list and check it twice.

We will be here cheering for some of our favorites, which is a tough choice this year because of the great talent.  It will be interesting for sure as it always is and we are looking forward to see how good Gwen and Pharell are at mentoring.  Usher was outstanding so that is who we will compare to.

Also our congratulations go out to “thehonkinggoose” for getting the answer to the “A cowboy rides in to town on Friday…etc”.  The answer being “Friday is his horse”.  WTG!  Click on the comments below to see the response.

We though for sure the “Brandon Gang” would have got this one 🙂

Some of the highlights from last night got our interest in tonight’s battle rounds, but hey, we were there anyway.  Hope your favorites make it through and we will be looking forward to the weeks ahead.

We have nothing else to report at this time except to remind all of those out there who have not registered to vote to get to it.  We have some elections coming next month.  The cheetah vote needs to get done.
