American Idol 2019 – Top 5

To our original followers you well know that we started this site about nine years ago because of reality shows American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance.  Our main reason is to promote people who are following their dreams and only see success.  After several years of following each we did back away because they changed the format or canceled the show like American Idol moving from Fox to ABC.  This year we are following them again and we started with American Idol 2019.

First of all we want to say that we only record these shows because we do not like commercials and on record we can fast forward past the commercials.  This weeks AI was 2 hours long and there were 85 commercials so if each commercial was a minute (Some were less than 30 seconds) out watched approximately 60 minutes of commercials out of a 120 minute long show.  Do the math!  There were 9 commercial beaks and the last break was 13 commercials.  So we record.

Katy Perry’s outfit looked to be directed toward Flower Shops and Melon growers and she succeed in getting their attention we think.  Maybe even viewers that we out there in the botanical industry. If Katy needs an assistant to dress her in the latest styles, please give a call and we will make you outstanding.  (we are one of the billions of Katy’s followers on Twitter)

Tonight two contestants were cut and that was Wade and Lacey.  All the contestants this year are outstanding and our actual inspiration for restarting our posts was Wade.  Even though he was cut tonight we think Wade highlights why American Idol started and he probably has inspired all those viewers out there in TV-Land who have people telling then they are not good enough, or you could never go on that show, or on and on about how you must listen to then because they know.  BUT instead, you listen to that voice deep inside yourself that says “Follow your dreams and get out there and show the world what you are and can do. Take that first step toward your dream and the rest will follow!”  Look at Wade, a tough time growing up and he did not stop or feel sorry for himself, he took the first step and millions have watched hi journey to this point and will for sure continue for him until he wishes to stop.  Thank you Wade.

So next week the top three will perform and this years American Idol will be chosen.  We flipped a coin to choose and it came up Liane, who is here for the second time.  It’s our opinion that Lionel is supporting Alejandro.  Alejandro a talent and a great self promoter, in fact is all of the AI shows we ever watched Alejandro has self promoted himself better then anyone before him.  Smart thinking we believe, if you don’t win then leave your mark and leave them asking for more.

Hope you voted for your favorite!

We have a challenge for all our followers.  We recently purchased two bracelets from “4oceans.com” so we can brag that we have helped remove two pounds of crap / garbage from our oceans and we challenge you folks out there in cyber-land to match us.  We plan to purchase one per week.  So come on, let’s start cleaning up Mother Earth.  Click on the link above to check the site out and save our planet.

We have nothing else to report except we are happy to report that the “Mind and Body” Class we are taking is awesome.  We will soon begin posting on the class since we are quickly becoming “Foodies”.  Now that is a miracle.  🙂

Opera Browser Review and other AAN stuff

My long vacation is over an it’s time to report on what we have been doing and the many interesting places we have been both on-line and off. I have been screwing around with Firefox and Chrome both of which pissed me off so we read about Opera and so far we find it to be perfect for our needs.  We are on it now and so far so good.

We have been living on Twitter for several months supporting the anti-Trump folks and pushing for the #calext (California becoming its own country) proposition. We like #calexit because the point is we don’t want some moron like Trump determining our present and future.  We also have been organizing the Reiki folks world wide to send healing energy to the victims of the recent hurricanes and earthquakes. I once lived in Florida and would not go back, but the folks there have taken a beating and we care.

Recently we discovered that several dating sites contain hundreds of scammers of various types and we have names and will be doing some blogs on what we experienced and solutions. Right now if you are on a dating site and the person you are talking to lives in Ghana and they are asking you for money to get a new cell phone or some other expense then they are probably a scammer. Google “Ghana scammers” and look on YouTube you might just see something disturbing.

We are happy to say that we are still smoke free and have helped other to become the same way. Motto “Smoke cigarettes is like holding a gun to your head and pulling the trigger on a gun that shots a slow moving bullet.” You will suffer and your family will suffer right along with you.

We still watch So You Think You Can Dance, Deadliest Catch (Less), Americas Got Talent (Addicted to Heidi), Pawn Stars, every Golden State Warriors game (Eat your heart out Chicago), every Raiders game, some 49’s games (they need to win us back), The Voice (Less), X Factor, just to list a few.

We are also going to be reporting on some medical experiences that we have currently (Noting major) and have researched. We consider ourselves blessed that we did not have any issues other than shortness of breath after we quit smoking but what we found was he inherited one called Orthostatic hypotentension which has no cure but can e managed, and another called Polymyalgia Rhueumatica (PMR) and 20% of PMR patients have Temporal Arteritis and we are in the 20%.  Then for our followers who have met us here is a little tidbit that will probably make you smile. Between quitting smoking and the medications we have gained some weight after 65+ years at no higher than 150 we now weigh in at 190. At least we have leveled off here. (Hope you did not injure yourself when you fell off your chair Aaron). We must add that Stanford Hospital and The Stanford Medical Group have been beyond outstanding is every phase from the supporting staff to the amazingly talented doctors.

Of course there is more, but we have a craving for Cheeto’s and need to go find some.

We have nothing else to report except to say to everyone we hope you and your families are all well and we send you many blessings. We hold ourselves grateful having met so many great folks and knowing some very special people.

The Voice 2015 Fall Season

voiceHere we go again and just when you think The Voice can not get any better, it does !!  The 1st week of “blind auditions” proved to this reporter that this will be the best season ever of The Voice.  (We say this at the beginning of every season.) The judges are a perfect group topped off with Gwen returning and with the addition of Pharrell back season.  They seem to be having fun and some of the banter is really funny.  Hard to believe that Adam is having a tough time forming a team and has started slowly, but Pharrell and Gwen are really pushing to get contestants, along with Blake and of course Adam.  Talent wise, WOW, this season has started with the “Concert every night” theme and we are enjoying every minute of it. Tough to pick a favorite this season, but we are still looking for the “wow” ones.

We have nothing to report except that we were converted back to following So You Think You Can Dance this past season and we enjoyed it immensely.

The Voice Season 7 – Audition Night #2

VioceOnce again another The Voice Concert and we enjoyed every moment.  Sure looks like the two rookie judges have come prepared and are giving Adam and Blake a run for their money.  Pharrell is fun to watch and we would type more about him but when we type his name here we get the dreaded spell check underline.

So finally the season started and we have been waiting for years (exaggeration) for this season to start.  During the break we tuned in on “Rising Star” and we liked the concept, but the execution seemed a little off.  The mentors / judges were terrible, possibly the worst we have seen since Demi Lavto was on the X factor.  There were several times when the “judge” would say to a contestant “I didn’t like when you did that “run”, but I voted yes anyway.”  What?  Talk about two faced ! Kesha rarely voted “no” even when she voiced what she did not like about a performance.  We must say that we picked the winner Jessia Kinch from the 1st time we heard him and hoped he would win.

The other show we watched every week was America’s Got Talent (AGT), and found this to be one of their best seasons ever.  When it got down to the finals it was up for grams as to who was going to win.  Mat Franco one of our favorites took home the million bucks and Emily West came in second, another one of our favorites.

Then after not watching So You Think You Can Dance (SYTYCD) for two years we tuned in and when it conflicted with AGT we taped it and watched later.  Once again we were impressed by the level of dancing and Valerie was my grand-daughters favorite.  Valerie came in second with Rickie winning.  We are looking forward to next season already.  This show constantly amazes us by the quality of the dancing.

We have nothing else to report except that the special health drink and vitamins just got delivered and we will be reporting on the effects after we use them for about a week.

So You Think You Can Dance — Season 9 – Top 10 Results

All 10 dancers performed before the final results and then the bottom vote getters performed solos “Dancing for their lives”.  The judges did their saving routine and then decided who stays and who goes.

Going home tonight are Audrey and George.

To Audrey and George we say, “Let nothing stand in your way as you follow your dream and we hope to see you perform once again down the road as your journey continues.”

We have nothing else to report right except to say that we still think the new format for SYTYCD stinks.

So You Think You Can Dance — Season 9 — Top 14 Results

The dancers only had to wait three weeks to see who was going home, because FOX did not have the guts to go up against NBC and the Olympics.  The new SYTYCD format is boring enough, but waiting three weeks must have seemed like forever.

All 14 dancers performed before the final results and then the bottom six dancers performed solos “Dancing for their lives”.  The judges then saved two dancers and…

Going home tonight are Matthew, Dareian, Amelia, and Janelle.

To Matthew, Dareian, Amelia, and Janelle we say, “Let nothing stand in your way as you follow your dream and we hope to see you perform once again down the road as your journey continues.”

We have nothing else to report right except to say that we still think the new format for SYTYCD stinks.  We recently had a comment by a visitor and they said, “The new format is about the same as a visit to the dentist’s office.”

So You Think You Can Dance – Season 9 – Top 16 Results

The judges tonight were Nigel, Mary, and guest judge Christine Applegate (Dancer?).

Tonight at the end of the show one boy and one girl will be going home based on last weeks voting.  All 16 dancers performed before the final results.

Going home tonight are Amber Jackson and Brandon Mitchell

To Amber and Brandon we say, “Let nothing stand in your way as you follow your dream and we hope to see you perform once again down the road as your journey continues.”

At least they did not have a “Bollywood” style this week.  The only time that a “Bollywood” Style routine would appeal to us is if we were in the lobby at the Hilton in BombayIndia for a “Bollywood” Convention and they happen to have the TV on with a SYTYCD “Bollywood” routine being telecast.  Back a few years ago they introduced a Russian Folkdance style and did not have any appeal.  They tried it again another week and once again it “bombed”.  We never saw the style again.  We hope the take a long look at the “Bollywood” style and come back with the same results.  It would save us a trip to Bombay.

We have nothing else to report right except to say that we think the new format for SYTYCD stinks.  One show per week with dancing and the results from the prior week all in the same night is not our “cup of tea”.  Ah well, that’s show biz.

Oh and by the way >>> 2012 Olympics start in two days.

To Nick, Daniel, Janaya, and Alexa we say, “Let nothing stand in your way as you follow your dream and we hope to see you perform once again down the road as your journey continues.”

So You Think You Can Dance – Season 9 – Top 20 Performance

Tonight the dancers will partner with each other even though the audience voting will be for individual dancers.  Next week two girls and two boys will be going home based on tonight’s votes.

The judges tonight were Nigel, Mary, and guest judge Kenny Ortega

Highlights in order of performance:

1] Witney and Chehon    Style: Samba    Song: Jump
Whitney excellent job.  The judges thought that because Chehon specialty is ballet, his footwork needs to be addressed other than that he did a good job.

2] Tiffany and George     Style: Contemporary      Song: Turning Page
Both dancers in their specialty did a superb job in this routine.

3] Janaya and Brandon   Style: Hip-Hop (Soft)      Song: Take Care
The dancers told a story with their dancing and it was very nicely danced

4] Alexa and Daniel        Style: Jazz        Song: Hey ! Hey!
So far tonight this was the best dancing because this was an extremely difficult routine to dance.  Great job by both dancers.

5] Amber and Nick         Style: Ballroom Waltz    Song: Nights in White Satin
This routine was flowing, and beautifully danced by both dancers.

6] Amelia and Will          Style: Hip-Hop (Soft)      Song: The Love Cats
This performance was fun, entertaining, and topped off with brilliant dancing. Bravo!

7] Janelle and Dareian    Style: African Jazz         Song: Jungle
This was another exciting dance routine danced by both dancers.

8] Eliana and Cyrus        Style: Broadway            Song: Run and Tell That
We are not really Broadway Style fans, but we are now.  The dancers absolutely “nailed” this routine. Bravo!  One of the best tonight.

9] Audrey and Matt        Style: Contemporary      Song: Unchained Melody
With both dancers in their specialty this was flat-out awesome dancing.  Bravo! Wow! Perfection.

10] Lindsay and Cole      Style: Paso Doble          Song: Unstoppable
The dancers received a standing ovation from the judges and we agree that was the best Paso Doble we have ever seen on SYTYCD.  Of all the styles this is our least favorite, but tonight it was just plain great dancing.  Bravo!

Best of night dancers in their specialty >> Audrey and Matt

Best of night dancers out of specialty >> Lindsay / Cole and Eliana / Cyrus
