Gluten Free and Sugar Free starts today

Here is what led up to our decision and it’s mainly because two people in my life suggested too go with this.  We do feel good, but there are nagging aches and pains that keep coming and going.  My sleep is not so good and we are scheduled to take the sleep analysis test in February, and we will, but we are still going to do this.  My niece listed about 10 things that made her life batter and our other friend said it changed her life.

Normally we would not announce a major life change, but we will be posting our progress along the way and we will include any “hiccups”.  Hey humans are not perfect so straying is part of the journey.  We are going to apply the same procedure that we used to quit smoking.  Any urge or decision on a type of food will be handled with a mindfulness meditation, just like handling smoking urges.  (We have been smoke free for 6 years this month).

The sugar free is a huge change for us.  Good grief!  We love our junk foods like Gold Fish, Sugar Frosted Flakes, Honey Nut Cheerios, or any cereal that is “sugar saturated”.  Then the candies out there like Butterfingers, Snickers, and just about any candy on the market.  Then the hidden foods with sugar will be a challenge and this is something we want to report.  If we find a food that says “Gluten Free” and is not, we will report it to you.  So to the companies that say they are Gluten Fee, we are telling you now that we will find you and expose your “fake” claims.  Sure it sells food, but not with exaggerated claims or in English, your lies.   If you are invested in the market on junk food stock we suggest you sell soon.  Please take your profits and donate to a nonprofit organization of your choosing.  If you stay in, then it’s your own risk and we can not be held accountable.

So we started by dumping all our stash’s of sugar and right now we are drinking coffee without sugar.  This is huge in itself! 🙂 We are now appreciating the taste of coffee and need to research is this coffee is gluten free.  We think so, but hey, we will check it out.  Then there is my all time favorite junk food a Quarter Pounder with Cheese.  (We are sitting here thinking about this one)  Bye-bye quarter pounder, our health is more important.  (I can hear my arteries cheering).  Then there is pizza and a zillion other fast foods.  Compared to smoking this will be a challenge and we are thinking that maybe becoming vegan would be the way to go.  (Something to consider)

We do love pasta and that will soon become are new friend.  The sauces will be checked but we like butter as a topping. No cheese of course.  Anchovies are another topping that is a long time favorite.  We doubt if gluten can exist in anchovies, but we will check.

Looks like we are starting a new and exciting adventure and our intent to the universe is to send us someone or a mob or two to guide us as we progress along.  We will be doing some heavy meditations to keep our mind clear so we will see the answers or the people who will be sent.  There has to be a few gluten free souls that came down with us in our soul group. (This where they will surface to join up in our happy journey)

Belief System / Meditation / Notes and Hints

We are following up on our last post because several folks asked us to clarify whet we meant be getting rid of the past memories to get to the “now”.

Interesting because this was our biggest challenge and once we got past the challenge everything fell into place.

What to get rid of is making decisions in the “now” based on decisions from the past.  When you made a decision in the past it immediately changed and is no long valid in the “now”.  In our “Quit Smoking “post there are several examples.  Hers is one, in the past when we were working and came to a decision that required some thought, we would go have a cigarette to think it over.  When that decision scenario happens now, the past solution is no longer valid so we stop, take three deep breaths and “in our head” we welcome the urge for a cigarette and say to the “thought/urge” you can hang around if you choose, but we are going to do a mindfulness meditation for the next few minutes.  The “urge” passes and because we treated it by creating a new solution, the next time a decision is needs the urge no longer comes.

More important is anything you are hanging on to in the past, like anger over a divorce or you best friend running off with your girl friend or an argument that you want to be “right” about and are constantly think about these in the now, so you are giving energy to an Illusion.  As long as you continue to give energy by thinking about the situation from the past, then you will be chasing the “now” because you stuck in the past.  We happen to know someone who is still holding a grudge from 1999 and making major decisions based on that situation, when in fact everything about the situation has changed in the “now” reality.  He is still stuck back in 1999 and we have moved on, but we understand that it’s his choice and we honor his choice.  We have forgiven him and continue to pray for him, but we have moved on.  Anything you are hanging on to in the past only you can resolve the situation.  Forgive your ex-girlfriend and of ex-wife and the guy that might have run taken them away from you.  Forgive your mom for spanking you in front of your friends.  Forgive your fourth grade buddy who passed your love note on to that cute blonde girl in your class when he in fact said he would not.  Anything you can that you are hanging on to in the past that requires you to take action to clear it from your mind.  You will feel a huge weight have been lifted when you complete each and finally you will feel freedom.  You can use mediation and visualization to complete this task, because you only have yourself and The Universe to answer too.  Being true to your self is mandatory.  If you’re living a lie then or still stuck in the past, then the “now” will be a constant chase.

Do keep the good times and be sure to share with others, but don’t dwell or live anything from the past.  Remind yourself that your only reality is “Now” and the past and future are both illusions. Know and trust that The Universe will show and guide you on your path.

We talk abut achieving a clear mind and when you get to the “now” and maintain being in the “now” your mind will be clear.  Why do you wish to have a clear mind?  It’s because when The Universe presents you with a solution of an intent that your requested a month or two ago, you will see it or know it.  Let’s say your mate dumped you a few months ago and you asked (Intent) The Universe for a mate that is of the same mindset as you.  So today you are catching a plane at SFO and you’re making your way to the gate though a huge crowd when your eyes meet another person in the crowd and fireworks go off in your head and you just know “this is my future girl/boy friend”.  Now your eyes can only meet if your head is not staring at your IPhone. The Universe is coming through, but you’re not doing your part by playing “Candy Crush”.  Got it?

Maintain a clear mind by getting rid of everyday negative energy, be mindful of what you say and how you say it, keep your Chakra’s in balance, share your experiences with others, and have fun with the “new” you.  It does take some work, but the growth and living in bliss by far is one of the greatest rewards.  Being creative and sharing with others is why we are here.  Everything you dream about is here for you.  Do the work and go find it.  The journey will constantly amaze you and you will grow beyond your wildest dreams.

Meditation 101 – The Beginning

This post is for the people who don’t or have “tried” to meditate without success.  It’s like anything else, it takes practice and dedication.

If you say you “can’t” meditate then choose to change your wording to “I choose to meditate and I choose to find the time each day to meditate”.

We strongly suggest using the Mindfulness Meditation structure of breathing in and out of your nose.

For One week, choose to meditate for five minutes each day or as many times per day as you choose.

 

  • Locate a quiet place and music is optional.
  • Sit in a chair or on the floor with legs crossed, hands on knees, head slightly tilted forward and back straight OR what ever is comfortable for you.
  • Eyes closed or if your eyes are open then focus on a specific point like the flame of a candle.
  • Start with three deep breaths slowly inhaling positive energy and relaxing your muscles and exhale negative energy.
  • Begin breathing though your nose focusing on each inhale and exhale.
  • If thoughts come into your mind and interrupt you, then acknowledge the thought and go right back to focusing on your breath.

(We actually say out loud to the thought “Hello thought, we know you’re here, but we are going back to our meditation.)

Then each week expand the time length if you feel comfortable that you’re progressing.  Anywhere from a minimum of 30 minutes to and hour is great without an interruption.

  • The goal is to get to three minutes or more without a thought going through your mind and you feel at peace in silence.
  • If you get to total silence then before you start, think of an intention(s) you wish to address when you get to silence. Example: I would like to know what my guardian angels name is or I would like a sign that I am on my path.  You could ask for the next lotto numbers or just about anything you want.  Play with it.
  • The whole point is to control your energy and get the negative energy out of your body and replace it with Love Energy.

The intention goes out to the Universe / God and the result could be right away or may take some time.  By meditation you get your mind clear so the when the answer to your intention you will see the answer.  There won’t be a bunch of junk filling up your head.

In our post about quit smoking there are many examples of how we used Mindfulness Meditations to get past the urge for smoking.  This was a key to complete quitting and it taught us that even throughout the day you can call on an immediate requirement without a formal meditation.

We started meditation mainly to get rid of stress and when we found how great it worked, we started using it to rid ourselves negative energy and become a better person.  Then we came across Reiki Healing but we just did chakra meditations on our own.  Then we started looking for a Reiki Master to get initiated in level one and two.   We talked to several because we waned to feel comfortable with who we choose.  Finally in 2004 we found a Reiki Master in Orlando Florida and she was old school.  We were initiated to Level I (One) then after three months we were initiated to Level II.  The initiation for Master was a one year wait and required total commitment to Reiki.  We did not go that far because our main goal was Level II so we could send energy long distance (Upon request) and for self healing.

So my friends, we know that you will succeed in anything you dream about and we k now that meditation will help you get to your goal.  If you are in the bay area, let us know and maybe we can create a group and meditate together.  Group meditation is strong and we have seen it in action.

Once you get to a point where you’re effectively moving energy here is something we used to play with.  When you’re driving and you at a stop light, focus on the back of the head of the person in front of you and send a thought for them to move their head to the right.  Play with what you have learned its all part of the experience..
