American Idol and The Voice 2016

AI 2011 logoThis is the last year for American Idol and since we have been watching since day 1, it will be like losing a friend.  I am guessing it’s due to falling ratings, but we are just guessing.  The sad part is that American Idol was the 1st to start the reality talent show format and when they leave there won’t be another show to replace their format.  The loss of a format for new talent like American Idol uses is not duplicated on any other show that we can think of.  The Voice pre-picks, America’s Got Talent is not a format for singers, and the X Factor currently is only in England.  Maybe Fox will come up with some kind of replacement for pure singing contestants similar to American Idol.  One thing for sure is that up until this season the viewing audience never know who stayed and who went home before the telecast was completed, but this year there have been several “leaks” about results already.  Guess some of the soon to be unemployed employees don’t give a hoot.

voiceThe Voice 2016 started this past Monday with the “Blind Auditions” and once again it is looking like an awesome season.  We say this every year, but it’s true every time.  With Adam, Pharrell, Blake, and Christina as the judges it for sure will be entertaining watching the judge banter.  Tuesday was the 2nd “Blind Audition” and so far we have picked three of four possible winners. Have you picked anyone?  We wonder if the N. Michigan “car-poolies” will be following The Voice this season.  (We won’t know because our source evaporated).  (We think yes).

We have nothing else to report except that even though we never get involved with political news, we can’t resist whats going on this year in the U.S.A.  After all we guess these guys and gals running for the presidency  also are chasing a dream.  (We are not sure what the dream is but maybe we will know by next November).

The Voice 2015 Fall Season — The Knockout’s

voiceNow we know why they call these shows the “The Knockouts”, it’s because as a avid viewer we are just plain knocked out by the concert level vocals by the contestants over the past two nights.  WOW!  We are sure glad we are not judges.

By the way did you see Blake, Adam, Gwen, and Pharrell on the Jimmy Fallon Tonight Show Tuesday night?  If you missed it we are sure you can catch it on YouTube, it was a roar watching Blake sing Y.M.C.A.

This season has certainly not disappointed us, in fact we think it’s way better than any other season, but then again, we say that every season 🙂

We are wondering if the car pool crowd is still watching? Have not heard anything, but they are a fairly quite bunch anyway 🙂

We have also been watching the X Factor – England, but it’s on such an odd schedule, we have missed many episodes.  Sunday and Monday shows and without a doubt Monday is The Voice night and there is no way we are watching the X Factor other than recording it on the DVR.  Then we play catch up because we have recordings from the weekend, and of course Tuesday is out because The Voice is on that night also.  Oh well, the X factor does not get very interesting until the “Live Shows”.

We have nothing else to report except to wonder how many folks have quit smoking recently.  If you used our advise from a few weeks ago have you noticed that it feels like a load has been removed now that you don’t have to worry if you have enough cigarettes? No more searching the entire house, rifling through all your old coats sweaters, drawers, and dress suits looking for a smoke.  No more needing to run to the 7-11 in the middle of the night to get a pack of smokes because your search came up empty.  No more planning an evening out based on if the restaurant has a smoking area and no more yellow junk on the paper towel when you clean your car windows.

The Voice – 2015 Fall Season – Battle Rounds 1 & 2

VioceWOW !  WOW ! Folks !  The first two nights of “battle rounds” have been GREAT !  YIKES !  The talent this year is beyond outstanding !  Have you seen your favorite yet ? Once again a concert every night!

The rumor mill was implying that Blake and Gwen were having a romance, but when Blake was asked he said they were just friends.

Onward and upward,  so lets enjoy this season and all the great talent, including Team Gwen, Team Blake, Team Adam, and Team Pharrell.  Next week the battles will continue and we have a list of singers we want to see.

The mentor / judge competition of words is really entertaining and the “steals” have begun. Making a choice by the team leader looks to be a really tough job.  We would just flip a coin.

We have never mentioned this before, but we think Carson Daly is one of the all time best hosts of any reality show.  It is really cool when he cheers with the families of each contestant when they were performing.

We have nothing to add right now except we strongly suggest that you take a few minutes and watch this video >>>>CLICK HERE<<<

The Voice 2015 Fall Season — Let the Battles Begin!

VioceFinally our favorite format of The Voice – The BATTLE Rounds.  The blind auditions we great, but our favorite part of The Voice is the battle rounds.  This is what sets The Voice apart from other vocal reality shows and with the great talent this year is going to be way over the top.  The judge / mentor steals are also going to be interesting.

We have nothing else to report except to say to you all out there in cyberland, see you tomorrow night for the start of the battles.  Thank you for not smoking while visiting and if you were smoking, why don’t you think about quitting? (Scroll down to the Quite Smoking the Easy Way Post a few days ago)

The Voice 2015 Fall Season

voiceHere we go again and just when you think The Voice can not get any better, it does !!  The 1st week of “blind auditions” proved to this reporter that this will be the best season ever of The Voice.  (We say this at the beginning of every season.) The judges are a perfect group topped off with Gwen returning and with the addition of Pharrell back season.  They seem to be having fun and some of the banter is really funny.  Hard to believe that Adam is having a tough time forming a team and has started slowly, but Pharrell and Gwen are really pushing to get contestants, along with Blake and of course Adam.  Talent wise, WOW, this season has started with the “Concert every night” theme and we are enjoying every minute of it. Tough to pick a favorite this season, but we are still looking for the “wow” ones.

We have nothing to report except that we were converted back to following So You Think You Can Dance this past season and we enjoyed it immensely.

The Voice 2014 Season 7 – Battle Round Complete

VioceWhew!  The “Battle Rounds” are done.  We are exhausted especially from last night where we were on the remote constantly at the beginning of the show because the Giants were playing in the World Series and even thought they were ahead by 7 runs when The Voice started, he had to watch our “beloved” Giants play to the end of the game.

Okay so now that the “Battle Rounds” are over and our favorites made it through to the “Knock Out” Rounds starting next week, we need the time to update our notes and buy more munchies for next week.  The rest of this week we will be glued to the TV watching the World Series.

Hope all of you favorites made it through or were stolen and got to stay.  Have not heard from the Brandon Gang so we don’t know whats up with them.

Being a judge / mentor on the Voice must be tense.  They had some really tough decisions on the battles and basically it was a flip of the coin making the decision who won of not.

He have nothing to report right now except:

giants

The Voice Season 7 – The Battle Rounds Preview

VioceOkay folks the “Blind Auditions” are over with and now we let the “Battle Rounds” begin …next week.  Dang, we have to wait until next week and tonight is just a review of the blind auditions.  Oh well, it will give us a chance to stock up on munchies and make our list and check it twice.

We will be here cheering for some of our favorites, which is a tough choice this year because of the great talent.  It will be interesting for sure as it always is and we are looking forward to see how good Gwen and Pharell are at mentoring.  Usher was outstanding so that is who we will compare to.

Also our congratulations go out to “thehonkinggoose” for getting the answer to the “A cowboy rides in to town on Friday…etc”.  The answer being “Friday is his horse”.  WTG!  Click on the comments below to see the response.

We though for sure the “Brandon Gang” would have got this one 🙂

Some of the highlights from last night got our interest in tonight’s battle rounds, but hey, we were there anyway.  Hope your favorites make it through and we will be looking forward to the weeks ahead.

We have nothing else to report at this time except to remind all of those out there who have not registered to vote to get to it.  We have some elections coming next month.  The cheetah vote needs to get done.

The Voice Season 7 – Blind Auditions

VioceOnce again we had two night’s of a The Voice Concert and the interactions between Adam, Gwen, Pharrell, and Blake are proving to be entertaining in itself.   We were laughing at the bantering and  the crafty way the teams are being built.  Looks like the teams are filling up and the battle rounds will be starting soon.  (I wonder how we add Pharrell to our dictionary so we won’t keep getting the dreaded spell checker underline?).

It’s been a great two nights and we have nothing else to report yet except to leave you with this question, “A cowboy rides in to town on Friday, stays three nights, and leaves on Friday.  How is this possible ?”  (Leave the answer as a comment and we will report next week who posted the correct answer).

The Voice Season 7 – Audition Night #1

VioceWell folks it looks like The Voice is going to be better this season than it was last season.  Amazing how The Voice has improved this year with the two new judges Pharrell and Gwen.  Last night was another “Monday Night Concert with The Voice!”.

The opening with all the judges performing was down right awesome.  Then the contestants this year look like they are going to out do all the priors years.

What is cool about the two new judges is their approach to recruiting the contestants to join their team is fresh and very entertaining.

We needs to start taking names because the contestants are so good it’s tough remembering who is who.  Like the 1st guys to start the new season.  We think he was the best of the night and since we don’t “google” his name evades us.  (Sigh).  Moving on to tonight’s “The Voice” Concert should be as entertaining as last night.

We hope all of you out there in cyberland enjoyed last nights show as much as we did and discussed it in the car pool lane this morning.

We have nothing ales to report at this time except to wonder if any of you have tried the “Blue Apron” for your meals.  We have been ordering for about three weeks and every meal has been outstanding.  We found it to be cheaper than going out and about even with going to the store and getting the makings.  Give it a try, you might just like it.
