Tonight the Top 7 performed and the viewing audience will be able to vote for their favorite.  Tomorrow night will be the results show from tonight’s votes and two contestants will be going home.

The theme tonight was “The music of Michael Jackson” and some members of the Jackson family were in attendance in the audience.

The judges and mentors tonight were L.A. Reid, Nicole Scherzinger, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell.

Here are the Top 7 Contestants in order of performance:

1] Josh Krajcik                        Song “Dirty Diana
Out of his comfort zone with this theme it was not one of Josh’s best performances even though he did a good job with it.

2] Astro                        Song “Black or White” (Highly modified).
If you like “rap” we guess it was good, but talking fast is not singing and even though the judges seemed to like the performance we did not.

3] Drew                       Song “Billie Jean”
“Wow!” This was easily Drew’s best performance this season.  She had excellent vocals and she made a classic M.J. song her own.  Great job Drew!

4] Rachel Crow           Song “Can You Feel It”
A safe song choice and Rachel did a good job with the performance.  It was not her best, but pretty good job.

5] Marcus Canty          Song “P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)”
“Ugh!” That was not good performance at all.  If you are going to sing like M.J. you better nail it and it wasn’t even close.  Marcus was in the bottom last week and probably will be going home tomorrow.

6] Chris Rene              Song “I’ll Be There”
We really like this performance by Chris and we think it was by far his best this year.  Great vocals, which surprised us and he left us wanting more.

7] Melanie Amaro        Song “Earth song”
The only thing we can we say about this performance is that it was pure perfection and one of the best performances this season by any contestant.  Melanie has everything the “X” Factor is looking for – Vocals, audience connection, and stage presence.

We have nothing else to report except that we really enjoyed the show tonight and we hope you voted for your favorite.
