The “X” Factor USA Season 1 – Top 10 Performance

Tonight the Top 10 performed and the viewing audience will be able to vote for their favorite.  Tomorrow night will be the results show from tonight’s votes and the contestant with the least number of votes will be going home.

Tonight’s theme was “Rock”.

The judges and mentors tonight were L.A. Reid, Nicole Scherzinger, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell.

Here are the Top 10 Contestants in order of performance:

1] Leroy Bell                Song “We’ve Got Tonight”
We think this was Leroy’s best performance this season.  The vocals were spot on and he made the song his own.  It looks like his confidence is growing with each passing week.  Good job.

2] Rachel Crow           Song “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction”
This was an old song made new.  Rachel did a great job with the vocals and the arrangement.  A perfect song choice and we wanted more.

3] Chris Rene              Song “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright”/”No Woman No Cry”
A good performance but this was not a rock song, it was Reggae – the only ting missing were the steel drums.

4] Stacy Francis          Song “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now”
This was a questionable song choice and a very so-so performance.  In fact, we did not like this performance at all.  This was the second week in a row where Stacy seesm to have lost her direction.

5] Melanie Amaro        Song “Everybody Hurts”
This was another great performance by Melanie, which she does week after week.  A classic song updated to contemporary and she made the song her own.  Bravo!

6] Josh Krajcik                        Song “The Pretender”
This was not one of our favorite performances by Joss but Simon called it “Bloody fantastic” and the other judges like it very much.

7] Astro                        Song “I’ll Be Missing You”
A rock song made in to Rapp/Rock and the judges went “ga-ga” over the performance.

8] Lakoda Rayne         Song “Your Love”/ Go Your Own Way”
This group needed great tonight and we got so-so. – Probably will be in the bottom two again tomorrow night.

9] Drew                       Song “With Or Without You”
This was another unique performance by Drew but not one of our favorites.  We kept waiting for more and it never came.

10] Marcus Canty        Song “Piece of My Heart”
This was a so-so performance overall and the one thing we noticed is that Marcus does not need all those other people backing him up.  Marcus does much better alone on stage because he is an entertainer for sure.

We have nothing else to report except that we really enjoyed the show tonight and we hope you voted for your favorite.
