American Idol Season 10 – Top 6 Performance

The theme tonight was songs from Carol King.

The judges, Randy, Steven, and J-Lo, will only give their opinion after each performance.  The decision is up to the viewing audience based on the vote getting power of each contestant.   “Babyface” joined Jimmy Iovine as mentors this week.

Tonight AAN invited Jojo and Gabrielle to once again be a judges tonight.

Here are the tonight’s performances in order of appearance:

1] Jacob Lusk – Song: “Oh No, Not My Baby”
The performance was vocally fantastic and full of energy.  We think this was Joacob’s best performance lately and it looked like he was having fun.
Jojo – Fantastic!
Gabrielle — 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

2] Lauren Alaina – Song: “Where You Lead”
We asked, “Will Lauren go for it this week and take a risk?”  Our answer is, “She took and ever so small risk with an extremely safe song choice”.
Jojo – Good performance.
Gabrielle 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

3]  Sctty McCreery – Song: “You’ve Got a Friend”
Scotty took a risk this week with a ballad and shined as usual.  The vocals were very good with a strong audience connection.  We think it was his best performance this year.
Jojo – Always a true artist!
Gabrielle — 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

4] James Durbin – Song: “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow”
Simply put – TOTAL PERFECTION!  This was one of the best performances this season and as J-Lo put it, “It was magical.”
Jojo – American Idol 2011
Gabrielle — 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
Marcel from A. T. & T. U-verse – Loved it!  (Marcel stooped in just for this performance)

5] Casey Abrams – Song: “Hi-De-Ho”
A risky arrangement of a classic song and may have brought Casey up a notch or two.  The vocals were very good with the perfect song choice.
Jojo – Genius (once again)

6] Haley Reinhart – “Beautiful”
Not her best performance, maybe because she strayed off of her style over the past fe3w weeks.
Jojo – Ok, just ok.

As far as the best duets tonight, Jojo picked Scotty / Lauren and Jacob / James.

Jojo picked the bottom three last week and this week she picks Jacob, Haley, and Casey with Haley going home.

AAN‘s Best Performance Tonight

We have nothing else to report other than it will be interesting to see who makes the top 5 after tonight’s votes are cast.  Be sure to cast your vote for your favorite or they may not make it.

See you tomorrow night and thank you for your on going support.
