The theme tonight was songs from the movies.  The contestants were assisted by several music producers on the arrangement of each song and guest singer from The Black Eyed Peas, Will I. AM.

The judges, Randy, Steven, and J-Lo, will only give their opinion after each performance.  The decision is up to the viewing audience based on the vote getting power of each contestant.

Tonight AAN invited Jojo and Gabrielle to be judges

Here are the tonight’s performances in order of appearance:

1] Paul McDonald – Song: “Old time rock and roll”
This seemed like a safe song choice and a performance we really did not like very much.  The song did not bring anything new nor did it highlight Paul’s vocals.
Jojo – Not his best
Gabrielle – X X X X X — Did not like the song choice but really liked his fancy clothes.

2] Lauren Alaina – Song: “The climb”
We thought this was a so-so performance that did not show off anything new.  The vocals were just okay.
Jojo – Great
Gabrielle — 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂  — Did not like, loved it.

3] Stefano Langone – Song: “End of the road”
This was much better than last week, in fact we think this was Stefano’s best week this season.  The vocals were right on and the audience connection was back.  Bravo!
Jojo – Dull
Gabrielle — 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 — Great song choice.

4] Scotty McCreery – Song: “Everybody’s talking”
Scotty wnet back to the country style and we totally enjoyed the performance.  Scotty started this season great and is getting better each week.  Bravo!
Jojo – Perfect!
Gabrielle — 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂  — Yes !

5] Casey Abrams – Song: “Nature Boy”
Casey took a big risk again by going against what the producers suggested.  Casey started slow, but then got in to it and we enjoyed every note.  By the end of the song we wanted more.  We agree with randy when he said, “This was genius!”
Jojo – Offbeat – Great!
Gabrielle – X X X X X X X – I did not like the song choice or his cloths.  I do not like “Boy” cloths.

6] Haley Reinhart – “Call Me”
We question the song choice this we after a great week last week for Haley.  The performance was just so-so and a little scattered.  She showed nothing new..
Jojo – No Comment

7] Jacob Lusk – Song: “Bridge over troubled water.”
Jacob took the producers advice and changed the song, which proved to be another outstanding performance.  The vocals were great with the final notes coming from who knows where?  Awesome vocals by Jacob.  Bravo!
Jojo – Good Job

8] James Durbin – Song: “Heavy Metal”
James also went against the producers advice with this song choice, which proved to be a great choice.  Once again it was like watching a James Durbin concert for us.  Bravo James!
Jojo – Over the top heavy!

AAN‘s Best Performance Tonight
