Tonight the Top 12 girls perform their solos and the viewing audience will then vote for their favorite contestant.  The results will be released this Thursday and the seven girls with the lowest votes will be going home.  If you have a favorite you need to pick up the phone and place your vote.

The judges, Randy, Steven, and J-Lo, will only give their opinion after each performance.  The decision is up to the viewing audience based on the vote getting power of each contestant.

Tonight AAN invited Gabrielle (5 year old grand daughter), Jenna, Andrew, and Jojo to be judges and to please rate each contestant on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the highest rating.  Gabrielle elected to use “X” for did not like and “ 🙂 ” for like.

Here are the tonight’s performances in order of appearance:

1] Ta-Tynisa Wilson – Song: I’m the Only Girl in the World
So-so vocals, not strong at all.  Not a good song choice and did not bring anything special.
Jojo – 4 – No Vocals
Gabrielle — 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
Andrew – 5
Jenna — 3

2] Naima Adedapo – Song: Summertime
The vocals were pretty good and she showed good range. The song choice was very good along with good stage presence.
Jojo – 9 – Classic – Definitely talented
Gabrielle — 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
Andrew – 2
Jenna – 8

3] Kendra Chantelle – Song: Impossible
Another so-so performance and song choice was weak.
Jojo – 9 – Great rich voice and presence
Gabrielle – X X X X X X X X
Andrew – 2
Jenna – 9

4] Rachel Zevita – Song: Bad Girl?
Pretty good vocals, but not a great song choice.  We found ourselves wanting more.
Jojo – 4 – She’s lost it. Song choice??
Gabrielle — 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
Andrew – 2
Jenna – 5

5] Karen Rodriguez – Song: Hero
She started slow but finished much better.  Pretty good vocals and arrangement.  She made the song her own.
Jojo – 4 – Fair job — inconsistant
Gabrielle – 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
Andrew – 9
Jenna – 10

6] Lauren Turner – Song: I need You(?)
We really liked her vocals and she showed great range and stage presence.
Jojo – 8 – Great vocals, strong performance
Gabrielle — 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
Andrew – 7
Jenna – 8

7] Ashthon Jones – Song: ?
Pretty good vocals but the performance was to karaoke.
Jojo – 6 – Not very strong

8] Julie Zorrilla – Song: Break Away
We were waiting for this performance and we were disappointed.  The vocals were so-so and the song choice was not very good.
Jojo – 4 – Poor song choice – My earlier favorite

9] Haley Reinhart – Song: Keep on Falling
Very good performance and her vocals were “spot on”.  She showed good vocal range and stage presence.
Jojo – 7 – Some clarity needed.

10] Thia Megia – Song: ?
Was only an ok performance for us, nothing special.
Jojo – 4 – Nice for an undeveloped, untrained voice

11] Lauren Alaina – Song: Turn on the Radio
She started shaky but finished with good vocals and performance.
Jojo – 6 – Pretty good, but nothing special or different.  Can do better.

12] Pia Toscano – Song: Stand By Me
We were really looking forward to this performance and we NOT disappointed.  This was by far the best performance tonight with great vocals and the perfect song choice.  This is one of those “This is what this show is about.” moments.
Jojo – 10 – Star quality!  Best of night.

Jojo’s Top 5 picks tonight Pia, Haley, Lauren T., Kandra, and Naima.

AAN‘s Best Performance of Tonight

We have nothing else to report except to say that before the top 24 started we thought the girls were the strongest group, but after tonight it looks like the boys are the ones out front.

Tomorrow night show will be the results from last night and tonight.  The top 10 will be chosen from the audience votes and there was something mentioned about “wild card” saves.  Guess we have to watch to find out.
