Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups Commercial

Reeses

I have been a fan of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups for decades.  I buy a few packs of this tasty treat every chance I get and I share my purchase with others so they can also enjoy a tasty treat.  Then recently I saw this commercial <Click here>.

The commercial states “Sharing is a nice gesture..” and then it says “Stupid, but nice.”  Well now, Reese’s might think the “stupid” comment is cute, but I take it personally.  Because I share I am stupid?

Here is my response to Reese’s:
“I will never buy another Reese’s product and I will tell others to do the same.  Boycott Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups!  And because Reese’s is owned by Hershey do the same for their products.  Boycott all Hershey products!

Join the boycott all you readers out there in cyber space even if you don’t share.  They are calling your friends that do share “Stupid” and that is something I would not stand for if I were you.  We can’t let them get away with this personal attack.  Who do they think they are?  The nerve of some people!

I am now placing Hershey’s on the “NOTHING Companies to boycott list” and they can join the other companies who will get nothing from me in the consumer market.

 December update..

I have not seen this Reese’s commercial for about six months.  This blog was originally posted on June 11, 2009 and I have see other Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup commercials so I have begun purchasing this product and enjoying every bite.  Oh and by the way I have shared some also.  Hopefully we won’t see any more “stupid” commercials from this source again.

The AAN team is happy to report this new information and we have nothing else to add at this time.

  1. You seriously need to lighten up. I share. I’m a good person. And I LOVE this commercial. It’s called sarcastic satire, and it’s actually quite popular.

    • It may be their sense of humor, but I don’t like the message. I would never call anyone stupid, not even joking.
Everyone has an opinion and thank you for voicing yours. Peace!

  4. Lighten up nothing! I would go along with sarcastic humor of the commercial was only shown at night, but Reese’s is marketing it an children’s cartoon channels. My 11 year old son thought it was a rude commercial & I am sick & tired of seeing commercials that show my kids & grandkids that it is not only ok but a good thing to be rude, mean or steal!

  15. Really grow up…
its a commercial. They arent trying to insult anyone.
if you are so worked up about it that you are telling everyone to boycott hershey products then you obviously are immature…im sure other people have said worse things about you…
What are you going to tell everyone to give those people the silent treatment?
    geez…

    • It’s not that they are trying to insult anyone, it’s the message their sending to the young folks who don’t know any better. I don’t want my children thinking their “stupid” for sharing….
